Take a step out of the common way of travelling to Russia. Why not to combine your tour to Saint-Petersburg, Venice of the North, with the visit to the place where the great Russian Oka and Volga rivers meet – to Nizhny Novgorod. First of all, city attracts the visitors with its history and architecture, but don’t forget great views to Volga river from its embankments, famous folk craft Khokhloma and Gorky Automobile Plant (GAZ) which gave the city one of its nicknames “Russian Detroit”.

Day 1.

Arrival to Saint-Petersburg

Transfer to the hotel


Day 2.

Breakfast at the hotel.

Orientation city tour with photo stops at Admiralty, St. Isaac’s Square, Bronze Horseman monument, Spit of Vasilievsky Island, legendary Aurora cruiser. Visit to Peter & Paul Fortress. Visit to St. Isaac’s Cathedral.

Neva River and canals boat trip on private boat.

Optional tour for an additional fee: visit to Faberge Museum

Return to the hotel.

Day 3.

Breakfast at the hotel.

Visit to the celebrated Hermitage Museum with one on the world largest art collections.

Afternoon - Departure to Peterhoff for visit to the Grand Palace and park often referred to as "the Russian Versailles" (Or visit to Catherine’s Palace in Pushkin with famous Amber room – upon request depending on season).

Return to the hotel.

Day 4. Breakfast at the hotel and check out.

Free time or optional tour for an additional fee: excursion in the Russian Museum - the most popular art museum in Russia or excursion to the Yusupov Palace - one of the rare mansions of St. Petersburg, preserved in its original form.

Departure to the railway station.

Overnight train to Nizhny Novgorod (Alternative: fast train Sapsan)

Day 5.

Arrival to Nizhny Novgorod.

Transfer to the hotel, early check-in.

Breakfast at the hotel.

City tour, including visit to Kremlin and ropeway ride. Ropeway of Nizhny Novgorod is the only cable car in Russia and Europe with a span of 861.21 m above the water surface.

Return to the hotel.

Day 6.

Breakfast at the hotel.

Departure to Gorodets. Gorodets is the oldest town in the Nizhny Novgorod region, demonstrating the atmosphere of a merchant village of the XIX century, where every house is an object of cultural heritage. Visit to Feodorovsky Monastery, the City of Craftsmen exhibition center, Museum of Samovar, Museum of Gingerbread.

Return to the hotel.

Day 7.

Breakfast at the hotel and check out.

Free time or optional tour for an additional fee: excursion in the Museum of Gorky Automobile Plant, which houses legendary vehicles Volga “Pobeda” and “Chaika”, or excursion to the Museum of Christmas balls factory – feel Christmas atmosphere all year round and take master class on painting Christmas balls.

Departure to the airport / railway station.
